Just in time for the 2012 Summer movie theaters across the country will be offering free or cheap movies for kids and parents to help great causes and help you cool down during the summer. Many theaters offer different movies each week and at a great price so be sure to check each one to see what theaters near you are participating. And enjoy the summer! (this post will appear each Tuesday starting next week throughout the summer for easy access)

Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatres
Select theatres are again offering previously released G and PG movies every Tuesday and Wednesday this summer for only $1 admission! All movies start at 10am and run from June 26th through August 22nd. Some examples are Kung Fu Panda 2, Smurfs, Rio, Yogi Bear and Kit Kittredge: American Girl. To check whether your theatre is offering this special check here and search by zip code or state. A portion of all proceeds will benefit the Will Rogers Institute.

Centrury Theatres, CineArts and Tinseltown
Select theatres are offering 10 weeks of family films through their Summer Movie Clubhouse. There is a new film each week for only $5 for all 10 weeks IF you buy the tickets in advance (in theatres) or $1 if buying the day of the event. Since each theatre has the option to pick the date and times each week along with the movie so make sure you check the list of participating theatres. The $5 punch cards are available at the theatre box while supplies last so you will want to check your local theatre soon. Prices are the same for kids and adults so make sure you grab a punch card for yourself.

Marquee Cinemas
Select theatres are offering different family films each week for no charge during the summer. Check here for dates and times at a theatre near you. Schedules will vary.

Carmike Cinemas
Select theatres are offering different family films (G or PG) throughout the summer for only a $2 admission. And they are also offering their kids tray (popcorn, drink and fruit snack) for only $2! Movies are on Thursdays starting at 10 am and the schedule is available online.

Muvico Theaters
Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting June 12th through August 16th at 10 am enjoy a free family movie at all Muvico Theater locations. Check out the schedule and film listings online and their $3.50 Kids Tray (popcorn, drink and kid treat) which will benefit the Will Rogers Institute.

Rave Cinemas

Clearview Cinemas
Starting July 11th Clearview Cinemas is offering free kids movies each week for an eight week event! Check here for more information including movies available, dates/times and locations.

Great Escape Theatres
This summer Great Escape Theatres are offering family-friendly movies at a discounted rate (some locations may charge normal prices). Check here for more information and locations.
