Dairy Free Chocolate Shakes {Frugal Recipes}

Dairy-Free-Chocolate-ShakesLast week, my girls were looking for dessert and I had nothing in the house.  I decided to use the last banana and try to whip up a batch of Chocolate Shakes with a healthy spin.  These were easy and economical and the kids loved them!  They’ve since requested these dessert shakes over and over…these healthy shakes are ones that I don’t mind serving up!


  • 1-2 bananas, frozen or if you have a fresh one, simple add some ice to make it cooler
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons good quality cocoa powder
  • 2 cups of coconut or almond milk (we used coconut)


  1. in blender, combine milk, honey, cocoa powder, banana and ice (optional)
  2. Blend until smooth
  3. You could also add a tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter for some added protein or to make a peanut butter banana shake!
  4. Enjoy!
