Green Kid Crafts One Month Subscription #Giveaway {Two Winners!}

by Mackenzie on May 24, 2013

Water Color FunRecently I found this company called Green Kid Crafts which sends a box each month with 3-4 eco-friendly crafts for the kids to do. Each box comes with about 95% of the supplies you will need (for example we needed dish towels from home for one project) and often there are enough supplies for you to make two of the same project or share with a sibling. It’s awesome because the box is centered around a theme and often includes science or another lesson in the crafts. Plus it means I don’t have to THINK about the projects which is great for me…since I seem to be losing my mind more each year.

I just fell in love with Green Kid Crafts and look forward to the projects each month…more then the girls…and I wanted to share with you how great these boxes are so I contacted the company. I asked them if they would be willing to offer a giveaway so my readers can fall in love with them as well and they said YES! Intrigued? Well, continue reading!

About The Company
Green Kid Crafts is a green company that provides creative activities to do with kids through their craft kit subscription service either monthly boxes OR a digital subscription. With Green Kid Crafts, both parents and kids can enjoy sustainable crafts and activities that spark creativity, build confidence and cultivate respect and love for the environment.

Like so many of the best children’s products, Green Kid Crafts is a mother’s invention, created by a working mom who wanted to make the most out of the limited time she had to spend with her kids. Like many other parents, she wanted to spend that time connecting with her kids, not scrambling for ideas and shopping for supplies. That’s where Green Kid Crafts comes in.

Kid tested and parent approved, every project you receive bears the stamp of approval from our panel of experts, who ensure that their products are engaging, creative, and fun and also align with their Happy & Healthy Child principles.

About The Subscriptions
Each monthly box comes with 3 to 4 unique projects designed to boost creativity, build confidence and engage kids with nature. Each month they put together new and exciting Discovery Boxes, centered around a fun theme and containing 3 or 4 inspiring projects for budding crafters to enjoy. Kids love getting their Discovery Boxes in the mail and completing fun crafts they are proud of. Parents love that they come complete with earth-friendly, non-toxic materials as well as a Discover More guide to inspire additional activities and reading related to that month’s theme.

Each monthly Discovery Box includes:

  • All materials needed to complete 3 or 4 craft or activity projects; you just supply scissors, glue and some parental supervision. Materials provided are comprised of non-toxic, natural and sustainable supplies.
  • Instructions
  • Material disclosure information
  • Discover More booklet containing more crafting and activity ideas, and recommended books for additional reading on that month’s theme.

This Month’s Special
With Memorial Day just around the corner, and school break coming just weeks after, Green Kid Crafts is urging parents and caregivers to “Just Say No to Boredom and Brain Drain” this year by registering for our Summer Survival Collection. The Collection delivers award winning Discovery Boxes each month that are packed with craft and science activity kits to keep kids learning while they have fun, explore the outdoors and get creative.

According to the National Summer Learning Association, ‘brain drain’ is a very real concern for parents and teachers, as research shows that many students experience significant learning losses over the summer, with most losing about two months of grade level equivalency in some subjects. Having access to simple, fun and stimulating activities keeps kids’ minds engaged during the break, and better prepares them for the upcoming school year.

Subscribing to Green Kid Crafts Summer Survival Collection is an easy way for families to ensure that their kids are exposed to a diverse set of fun and educational activities throughout the season, and also makes a great gift! Each month, kids receive a Discovery Box filled with three or four craft and science kits, including all supplies and instructions, as well as additional extension activities and learning resources. The projects are designed by experts to promote creativity, build confidence and develop key skills while nature-related themes and sustainable materials encourage a child’s love and respect for nature.

June's Discovery Box

The collection presents three specially designed learning themes:

  • June’s Backyard Science box inspires and delights budding scientists and naturalists
  • July’s Gardening box is sure to create a lot of little green thumbs
  • August’s Around the World box takes us on a trip to three exciting spots around the globe to learn about culture and art

Of course, monthly subscribers will also enjoy the Summer Survival Collection too!

Our Experience
We have received our first two boxes so far…April and May. In April we learned about Earth Day and made seeded paper, a paper mache globe and enjoyed water colors (with string to hang them up!) In May it was all about Weather and we made a ribbon wind catcher, a cloud identifier and a weather station. This was perfect because last weekend I took the girls to the Seacoast Science Center and they got to see more in depth how the weather can effect the ocean and the environment.

My girls are truly excited when I pull out the box and say it’s time to work on a project and I love how all the materials are eco-friendly and each project has a purpose. They are fun but educational and teach while exploring. There really isn’t anything bad I can say about these boxes and we love them!
