disposable-picnicware-med-pw2Most of you may know my daughter will turn 2 this coming Sunday, April 22nd and as a family trying to be more green and Eco-friendly we wanted to celebrate the fact her birthday falls on Earth Day. So I began to think of ways to make the event not only special but also more earth friendly and one of the ways is to use biodegradable party supplies. Just think of the amount of waste produced by one party from cups to eating utensils to the decorations that are thrown out. So this year we decided to use biodegradable party ware from Green Paper Products.

Green Paper Products is committed to composting and to providing the highest quality biodegradable, compostable and eco-friendly tableware and green products to its customers. Their goal is to provide products made from renewable resources that can increase sustainability goals and increase the diversion of organic materials from landfills. Their biodegradable products are an important part of the cycle of sustainability and responsibility.

Green Paper ProductsGreen Paper Products disposable compostable and biodegradable tableware is…

  • Superior in strength and performance
  • Designed to meet a wide range of food service requirements
  • Suitable for hot or cold foods
  • Microwavable… refrigerator and freezer safe
  • Impermeable and non-toxic

How do these products help the environment?

Eight percent of the world’s current oil production is used to produce plastics, and these plastics, after use, take up at least 25 percent of an average landfill site. Reducing and redirecting materials from landfills is a major goal of environmental reform. Our products are made from renewable resources with minimal long-term environmental impact so as to preserve our natural resources for future generations.

Every Cup Counts from Float Pictures on Vimeo.

363 million paper cups are used each day. Every year Americans add 500 million pounds of cups to landfills…just from paper cups. These cups are lined with petroleum. We believe that very cup, plate, fork, knife or spoon we sell should be composted and used to grow a healthy planet. We want you to believe too.

Be sure to check out Green Paper Products on Facebook and online. They provide lots of information and resources on composting and their products and offer small quantity orders perfect for birthday parties, weddings or special events in addition to large quantities for businesses and restaurants.

My Opinion:
I loved these products so much I purchased the party ware package with cutlery for the birthday party. It’s an economical way to get all the supplies you need for the party including their Compostable Plastic Trash/Garbage Bags. My kit included (50) 10″ Classic Round Plate, (50) 7″ Classic Round Plate, (50) 16 oz. Clear Cup, a Cutlery Combo Pack (100 ea fork, knife, spoon) and (5) 13 gallon Tall Kitchen Bags for the clean up. I feel so much better knowing these products are compostable and will go into our new compost bin instead of the landfill. My husband and I always feel bad when we buy plastic forks, etc. and often use them more then once by washing them. Some may think we are strange but the amount of waste produced by all these plastic items that are used once is outstanding. By simply replacing your party supplies with biodegradable products we are saving the planet one cup at a time.
