Yoga is one of the most relaxing exercises that helps clear your body and mind from all the everyday stress. I used to go to Yoga class every week and loved how relaxed I was after class and in a much better mood. It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to go to Yoga class because of the little ones but with the Yoga mats from Aurorae you can practice at home and still enjoy all the benefits of Yoga!

The Northern Lights yoga mats have been created through inspiration from our universe’s solar winds and the magnetic energy from its ultimate source, the sun. The mat’s design replicates the natural phenomenon and energy source of the Northern Lights, and aims to draw out the potential that lies within all of us. Each individual mat has a uniqueness of its own, and no two mats are exactly alike.
All Northern Lights mats are made from PER eco safe biodegradable material and are phthalates and latex-free. The Northern Lights mats are extra long 72” x 24” wide and 5mm thick to absorb impact on joints. Their odor free, durably, long lasting quality truly sets them apart from other yoga mats.
The following tips are recommended for caring for your Yoga Mat:
- Wash your hands with soap and water before using your yoga mat. This will reduce any natural oils in your hands that may transfer to the yoga mat and cause slipping.
- DO NOT use creams or oils on your hands or feet before your yoga practice to keep your mat clean. This may also cause slipping.
- Wash your mat separately in the washing machine with detergent no bleach, gentle cycle, warm water and extra rinse cycle. This will help break in your mat and reduce any resins that may be sitting on top of your mat. Resin is an oil base that is put in all synthetic materials to help preserve your mat. When it lays on top of the mat it could cause slipping. This is normal for all new mats and is part of the production process to keep it safe during handling/shipping. Repeat as needed. If you have an older top loader machine with an agitator it is recommended washing by hand with a brush or coarse sponge to avoid any damage to the mat. The agitator can rip/damage your mat.
- Wrap your mat in a bath towel after washing and squeeze any excess water out. This will expedite the drying process. Do not worry if you see any suds on the mat, this is normal and it will dissipate as the mat dries.
- Hang dry your yoga mat outside in the sun. DO NOT PUT IN DRYER. The sun will help dry up the resins in your mat. Hang over your shower rod if you can’t dry outside. Your mat must be absolutely dry before using.
- To keep your yoga mat fresh and clean, they recommend their Aurorae All Natural Organic Yoga Mat Wash. Use to naturally clean your yoga mat, while also giving it a fresh natural scent. Spray directly onto mat and wipe dry with towel. Mat must be dry before using. It’s recommended cleaning the mat after your yoga practice.
- Always keep a micro fiber towel next to your yoga mat to wipe away any perspiration, as well as to clean your yoga mat.

This is my favorite blog post!!
I could really use this, I want to try yoga. I have army injuries and this would be easiest on them, I just can’t afford the equipment.
I liked the tips on this blog post!
OMG my doctor just told me I need to do yoga to help with my Frybriomyalga and RA, but being a medically retired deputy living on 449.00 per month it is hard to buy things like this
