Udi’s Gluten-Free Grilled Cheese Challenge Recipe

by Mackenzie on April 23, 2013

Udis-Gluten-Free-Grilled-Cheese-ChallengeDid you know that April is the Grilled Cheese Month? Thanks to the folks at Udi’s Gluten Free Foods I was able to try their different gluten-free breads such as Whole Wheat Bread, Millet Chia, Omega Flax and Fiber, Cinnamon Raisin and White Bread and come up with a winning grilled cheese recipe.

I had never had gluten-free bread before so when I received my package full of these goodies I was excited to try them and see if there was a difference versus the regular wheat bread we buy. And would the kids notice. I can honestly say that I could not taste any difference in the bread. In fact because Udi’s Gluten Free Foods do not use preservatives the bread tastes BETTER then any store bought bread. It was almost like getting bread fresh from the bakery and even though it was gluten-free, you could not taste any difference with the fresh ingredients they use. And the kids didn’t even notice!

Since Udi’s Gluten-Free Foods do not use preservatives it’s best to keep them in the refrigerator or the freezer until you are ready to use them. Half of the bread from my package went into the freezer and the other half went into the refrigerator especially my favorite the Cinnamon Raisin!

  3. Place a tomato on one American cheese slice
  4. Place the grated Smoked Gouda on the other American cheese slice
  5. Put your sandwich together and place one buttered side on a medium-hot skillet
  6. Carefully watch the temperature and time and flip over when the buttered side is nice and golden brown. Grill the other side of the sandwich.
  7. Slice and enjoy!
