It’s not a secret that I am a huge fan of recycling and an even bigger fan of using products made from recycled products. So I contacted Re-Play and asked them if I could do a review of their products made from recycled HDPE, which is #2 plastic. Each product is BPA-free, Phthalate-Free, and PVC-free and made in the United States! After your empty milk jugs are hauled away with the rest of your recyclables, they are flattened and sorted. RE-Play’s supplier carefully sorts and selects the appropriate containers, grinds them up into flakes, which are thoroughly cleaned, dried and color sorted. Then the little flakes are melted and made into pellets for shipping to our molder. He mixes the recycled pellets with a batch of colorant pellets, and then magically molds each Re-Play item.
Re-Play it offers toddler perfect products in four fun and “green” colors separated by boy or girl color groups. I was sent the following in girl colors which were green, yellow and pink to evaluate:
Bowls

My Opinion:
When I first opened the box I was super excited to see that the packaging is very minimum (great for the environment) and very simple to open. They use a sleeve to contain each item’s “group” and I was able to easily open them. After washing the items I packed them away in our camper since we were going camping the next day. I wanted to see how the girls would use them while we were “roughing” it.
The bowls are the perfect size for applesauce, pasta or even cereal and the perfect portion too! I love that! The divided trays are perfect for camping because there are three sections that makes it great for a hot dog, some watermelon and some grilled squash or anything really. The utensils are perfect for my youngest’s hands and she was able to use them quite well. My oldest may be a bit big for the toddler size but she was still able to use them and enjoyed eating on the special plates.
The only thing I can say about the cups is that even with the valve in place they leaked. Luckily we only put water in them but if left on it’s side the cups did leak although I’m not sure if it was from the valve or from where the cap screws on to the base.
Overall I was very happy with the products and we are still using them daily and packing them with us for our camping trips.
